2025 Conference Testimonials
I really appreciated the opportunity to attend the CAFAD conference last October in Vancouver. It was a valuable forum for candid and thoughtful discussions about the state of fine art programs across Canada. Deans and program leaders engaged in substantive conversations about the challenges facing the sector, from changing student expectations, the impact of AI, and resource pressures to the rapidly evolving pedagogical landscape in which art schools now operate. Just as importantly, the conference created space to think collectively about constructive paths forward: how to develop progressive and impactful programs that support student success, nurture creativity, provide meaningful professional training, and situate artistic practice within broader social commitments, including reconciliation and community engagement.
