The dates for our CAFAD conference this year are October 15th – 17th and it will be held at the Chan Centre on the beautiful UBC campus in Vancouver, BC! Theme is, “Contested Grounds: Arts, Culture, and Justice.”

The Annual General Meeting will be held during this conference, and as always, it’s an excellent opportunity to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and create wonderful, new relationships and memories!

Wednesday, October 15th – CAFAD informal cocktail reception

Conference Day 1, October 16th:

• Indigenous Welcome and Other Opening Remarks

• Opening Round Table “The Fine Arts in support of Climate Action” with hosts Naomi Klein, Carol Liao and Jarrett Martineau

• Breakout Sessions: “The University & Indigenous Faculty: iyá:qt – to transform it” with hosts Dylan Robinson and Tania Willard 

• Discussion Session: “The University & Indigenous Faculty: We’re not here to tell you how to Decolonize; a chat with Marion and Carey Newman” Marion Newman, Carey Newman

• CAFAD AGM
• Optional Dinner and Event

Conference Day 2, October 17th:

• 9AM – Community of Practice Panel – Kyla Mallett, Caroline Langill, Susan Lewis (virtually) – moderated by David Dick
• 10AM – 11:30 – Burning Issues
• 11:30AM – Catered Lunch
